Hosting - Don’t Forget!
Hosting can sometimes feel overwhelming, don’t forget these details!
When it comes to hosting an event in an intimate setting, every detail matters. Smaller gatherings offer a unique opportunity to create personalized, memorable experiences for guests. Whether you’re planning a micro-wedding, birthday, corporate event, or milestone celebration, here are the essentials you’ll need to make your event flawless.
At our venue, we understand that every event is special, which is why we offer an elegant and versatile space designed to bring your vision to life. Here’s a list of common items and details that hosts often forget when planning an event:
1. Party Setup
Ice - Thankfully we have a supermarket across the street as this is an item often overlooked
Paper Towels - Beautiful paper or cloth napkins are always considered. But they don’t always do the job when you are hosting.
Serving Utensils/Cake Knife - Spoons are great but don’t forget about the salads and desserts
2. Food and Drink
Dietary Restrictions - Keep in mind some of the more common food allergies /aversions. It’s not always as simple as just worrying if there is a vegetarian in the group. Common allergies include dairy, wheat and nut allergies.
Plates, cups, utensils - While we max at 50 guests, only bringing 50 plates cups and utensils may not be ideal. Try to have some reinforcements in case someone tosses a plate prematurely or there is an unexpected plus one.
Dessert Variety - I’m sure you vetted the best bakery in town, so we know the cake is good. But it is nice to offer another option to guests.
3. Atmosphere
Music - Be sure to talk to your DJ/Emcee and let them know the type pf vibe you want. The hour one vibes (early warm) may not be enough once everyone is done eating and ready to dance and mingle.
Lighting - We have dimmable lights for a reason. Sometimes the dinner calls for low lights and cute conversations!
Decor Extras - Tablecloth sizing is one of our pet peeves. For our round tables we recommend getting 120” tablecloths. If it’s too much of a hassle, no worries we got you covered. We offer tablecloth rentals. Centerpieces are also a nice touch and important not to forget.
4. Guest Comfort
Temperature - Yes, the season outside calls for a certain temperature inside. However, be mindful that your guests bring in some body heat and if everyone is dancing, setting our thermostats (that you control) to a warmer temperature may not be ideal.
Kids Activities - When guests include children we know they want the tablets or the games on someone’s phone. However, it is nice to offer them a game or distractions to keep them busy.
5. Timing and Planning
Timeline - You paid for your venue time. Be mindful of the time it will take to prepare before arriving to the venue. Allot enough time for cooking, vendor arrival, set-up, activities and clean-up.
Clean-up Plan - We offer a cleaning add-on but if you choose to take on this task be sure to organize helpers.
Party Favors - Guest want to leave with something. Sometimes that may just be a to-go plate and some pictures but they like to leave with something.
